The main objective of the festival is to provide good, wholesome, "family" entertainment at a reasonable price utilizing local talent as well as introducing artistes from out of the area who have a different slant on music. It tries to engender a "continental" feel to the evening so that visitors can stop and have a chat on their way to the next venue. If there is a money surplus at the end, then it is given to local charities.
The longest walk was up to Sponne, a journey well worth making, where the show on offer combined the centenary of the Studio Band together with Sponne's own musical future, young people who already represent their county and country in a variety of musical excellences by way of voice and instrument.
The Rotary Club is to be proud of the area in which it serves, where parents are committed to their offspring's future and provide considerable support by encouraging these young people. These are the same people who support the club in its efforts to serve the community at large. Long may it reign!
