I am a local Rotarian and I live in Silverstone. In 2015, I am celebrating my 50 years of motorcycling. To mark this anniversary I will ride my Harley Davidson motorcycle around the coast of England, Wales and Scotland, including the four corners of Britain, between 22nd and 31st May 2015, (approximately 3200 miles). The intention is to use the event to raise money for a small orphanage, run by my friend Jim Davis, who sold his Harley Davidson motorcycle in 2010 to raise enough money to start a small orphanage in Sumatra, Indonesia, after the 2008/9 Tsunami. Unfortunately the orphanage does not have access to Red Nose or Children in Need funding.
In the past I have organised rides for various charities. In 2011 to Moscow and St Petersburg in Russia, 2012 a Circular Tour of Ireland, 2013 a trip to the Arctic Circle and last year, 2014, the Ride to the Rock (Gibraltar) which generated income and interest in many local charity needs.
Each year there are 9 additional places available to motorcycle riders who wish to join me. The aim is to encourage people to support the event and raise £1.00 for every mile travelled by each rider for their chosen charity. The target figure is always £2,000 per rider. We aim to ride approximately 350 miles per day and all riders cover their own expenses.
If you or your local group would be interested in supporting this event , or hosting a speaker to talk about the event and the benefits of raising awareness of the needs for this charity, please contact me, Alex Cooke on 07776 203159 or email email@example.com for more details or donate to https://mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/rideroundbritain2015
